These installers contain the June 2009 system information detection update that fixes numerous issues in the hardware detection in these benchmarks. The version numbers of the actual benchmark products will not change and benchmark scores and visuals are identical to previous versions.


PCMark05 Build 1.2.0:

* Fixed transparent windows issues;
* Fixed looping issues with HDD tests;

* Updated SystemInfo component with support for the latest CPU and graphics hardware;
* Fixed all reported & reproduced issues.

Den PCMark05 gibt es in drei Versionen (Basic, Advanced und Professional), wobei die Basic Edition komplett kostenlos ist, aber längst nicht alle Tests zur Verfügung stellt.

Basic Edition features:

  • System tests, presenting the total PCMark score.
  • System Info, showing your PC hardware and system software in detail.
  • Online services. Submit your results and compare them to PCMark05 results from all over the world.

Advanced Edition features:

  • System tests, presenting the total PCMark score.
  • CPU test suite, giving a CPU score
  • Memory test suite, giving a Memory score.
  • Graphics test suite, giving a graphics score.
  • HDD test suite and a total HDD score.
  • System Info, showing your PC hardware and system software in detail.
  • Online services. Submit your results and compare them to PCMark05 results from all over the world.

Professional Edition features (in addition to above):

  • Customizability options over the tests including multithreaded tests modification
  • Command line options

Required Software

To run all the tests in PCMark05 and in order to receive scores, the system should have the following software installed:

  • Microsoft Windows XP operating system.
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 installed, for Web Browsing test and SystemInfo (download).
  • Microsoft Media Player 10 (download)
  • Microsoft Media Encoder 9 download).
  • DirectX 9.0c or higher runtime (included in the PCMark05 Advanced and Professional CD installation package, and available as download)

Fixes & Updates Version 1.1.0

  • HDD Test problems when /usepmtimer switch not present in boot.ini is fixed;
  • Issues on Transparent Windows test when other programs are run with "always on top" option has been fixed;
  • Visual settings for Windows is forced to "Adjusted for best appearance" (or "Let Windows choose...- which is the default setting for Windows XP) for the Transparent Windows test;
  • A potential risk of distorting results with 3rd party overclocking software has been fixed;
  • Reproducibility related issues with memory tests on some platforms has been fixed;
  • Export to Excel component issues with large amounts of data fixed;
  • Performance issues on certain tests have been tweaked, results on some platforms may improve with this;
  • Problems with external USB/Firewire hard drives have been fixed;
  • Updated System Info component with support for the latest CPU and graphics hardware;
  • Fixed all reported & reproduced bugs;
