Februar-Update 2010 - v1.0.2 1901
-Fixed hang in CPU Test 2 - Physics on systems with more than 12 logical processors
-Added possibility to disable System Info scan in command line front-end
-Fixed the score formula in texture fill rate test
-Added buffered file input stream for faster test loading times
-Updated System Info component version to 3.21.2.1

System Info v3.21.2.1 changes
-completely rewritten GPU clock speed detection
-fixed "COM Surrogate" errors
-fixed several compatibility problems with motherboards with integrated graphics adapters

Juni-Update 2009:
These installers contain the June 2009 system information detection update that fixes numerous issues in the hardware detection in these benchmarks. The version numbers of the actual benchmark products will not change and benchmark scores and visuals are identical to previous versions.

3DMark Vantage is composed of four full bore benchmarking tests (2 CPU tests and 2 GPU tests) and 6 feature tests. Four presets, a new feature, vastly augments the variety of PCs that can be tested with the product. Presets range from value through performance to high end cinematic rendering resolutions and features. By creating a new set of high end presets, 3DMark(R) Vantage is future proofed for the new multi-core CPU and Graphics Processing Unit products as well as supporting the Physics Processing Unit to expand the range of technology, testing and prevent the benchmark from being bottlenecked for its users.

Minimum System Requirements to run 3DMark Vantage:

- Processor:
  Requirement: SSE2 support
Recommendation: A dual-core processor with performance equivalent to Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+, or higher

- Graphics Card
Requirement: Fully DirectX10-compliant graphics hardware with the latest available display drivers

- System Memory
  Requirement: Windows Vista minimum requirement
  Recommendation: 2 GB or more

- Hard Disk

3DMark Vantage Build 1.0.1 Info

We have made changes in the product editions to better serve our customers. Off-line score is now available in the Advanced edition, and ad banners have been removed. Error messages have been improved, and various bugs have been fixed.

Note: The scores are NOT affected by this hotfix, and will remain compatible with build 1.0.0 scores.

If you have previously installed the 1.0.0 version of 3DMark Vantage, you can use the smaller Hotfix installer to update to version 1.0.1. Just follow the installation instructions on screen.

If you have not previously installed 3DMark Vantage, you need the full installer package. Run the installer, and follow the instructions on screen.

IMPORTANT: We recommend that you only install 3DMark Vantage using a user account that has Administrator rights on the machine. Installing 3DMark Vantage as a Standard User on Vista is not recommended. Cases where the user has Standard User rights only, and User Account Control (UAC) turned off are specifically not supported, and will not work.

If you have previously installed 3DMark Vantage with Standard User rights, and have any trouble installing the hotfix, please un-install 3DMark Vantage, and re-install using the full installer, using a user account that has Administrator rights on the system.

After the installation, 3DMark Vantage may ask you again for your serial key. Please enter it as previously.

The hotfix updates the following:

  • Off-line score viewing is now available in the Advanced Edition.
  • Score save / submit saved options are now available in the Advanced Edition.
  • Ad banners have been removed from all editions.
  • Added a "SEND ERROR" button to error messages; clicking this will send detailed error information to Futuremark for better bug tracking and fixing. No personally identifiable information will be sent or stored.

The hotfix fixes the following:

  • An issue preventing valid serial key entry in some cases has been fixed.
  • An issue causing "boost::filesystem::create_directory" error message after registration has been fixed.
  • Added a check and error message for hardware that is not DX10 capable.
  • Improved detection of supported resolutions so that CPU test minimum requirement (1280x1024) is now taken into account correctly.
  • Fixed an issue where pressing the ESC key during CPU test loading screen, the user would be taken to a score view with score -1.
  • The entire 3DMark Vantage application is now elevated to Administrator rights, rather than only the SystemInfo component. This will ensure more robust SystemInfo and benchmark functionality, and fixes the "pop-behind" elevation dialog.
  • Fixed an issue that sometimes caused "WM_QUIT" error messages.
  • Post-processing scale is now displayed correctly in the UI for the Extreme Preset.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause resolution switches at test runtime.
Notes: The scores are NOT affected by this hotfix, and will remain compatible with build 1.0.0 scores. A new full install for 3DMark Vantage Build 1.0.1 is also available.
