Electronic Arts hat bisher noch keine Stellungnahme zum Verbot veröffentlicht. Allerdings dürfte der Publisher eine ähnliche Reaktion erwartet haben, denn das Spiel wurde erst gar nicht offiziell in China vertrieben.
"EA's 'Battlefield' is not the only game that has been banned by the communist regime. Videogame consoles broadly have been banned in the country for over a decade, primarily for concern over the impact on children. The government has begun loosening its restrictions, but in the past years enthusiasts have had to buy the devices from importers and private retail outlets, such as China's ubiquitous computer malls. Though EA doesn't offer 'Battlefield' in China, the company does offer a version of its 'Plants Vs. Zombies 2' strategy game in the country, among other titles." (WSJ)
"The 'cultural invasion' aspect of the game was raised by state-run newspaper China Military earlier and the publication had predicted at the time that such a portrayal of the country and its conditions may lead to ban of Battlefield 4." (Techienews)
