Quartal 2014 geplanten Veröffentlichung gekauft und gespielt werden, denn das Spiel steht bei Steam Early Access zur Verfügung (18,99 Euro). Interessierte Spieler können somit die unfertige Version des Titels erwerben, dürfen dann aber sofort loslegen und erhalten am Ende das finale Produkt. Die Entwickler freuen sich ebenfalls über Feedback.

"After the first well-received War of the Vikings Alpha we began planning for the next phase and explored all options available to us", sagte Gordon Van Dyke, Executive Producer der War-Reihe. "We already knew we wanted to do another public Alpha and Beta, and we’d planned to offer pre-orders. After consideration, it was a no-brainer to go with Steam Early Access and kill two birds with one axe, and give our community ample opportunity to help shape the final product."

Nach der Erstellung eines Kriegers darf man entweder als mächtiger Nordmann England plündern oder das Land als Sachse verteidigen. Paradox Interactive verspricht intensive Mann-gegen-Mann-Kämpfe mit authentischen Waffen und Szenarien sowie Schlachten im großen Stil mit bis zu 64 Spielern.
