Konferenz startet heute in San Francisco mit Schwerpunkt auf Virtual Reality, Sieger der GDC Awards am Mittwoch
Heute startet in San Francisco die Game Developers Conference 2016 . Bis zum 18. März treffen sich Studenten, Entwickler, Hersteller und Publisher auf der weltweit größten Fachkonferenz der Spielebranche. Außerdem findet dort traditionell das Independent Games Festival statt, bei dem zahlreiche auch bei uns geteste Spiele wie Darkest Dungeon, Her Story oder Superhot um Preise in sieben Kategorien um die IGF Awards buhlen.
Dieses Jahr sind Virtual sowie Augmented Reality ein zentrales Thema, aber in den etwa 400 Vorlesungen werden nahezu alle Aspekte von der Entwicklung bis zur Vermarktung von Spielen beleuchtet. Zu den großen erwarteten Ankündigungen im Hardwarebereich gehört der Termin und Preis zu Sonys PlayStation VR.
Schließlich werden am 16. März die prestigeträchtigen GDC Awards vergeben. Hier die nominierten Kandidaten in allen Kategorien:
