Da BioShock in Deutschland ursprünglich in einer geschnitten Fassung veröffentlicht wurde, haben wir beim Publisher nachgefragt, ob dies mit BioShock: The Collection (
ab 24,99€ bei kaufen) erneut der Fall sein wird. Die Antwort: Die Sammlung wird auch hierzulande die ungeschnittene Version des Spiels enthalten. Damit sind in der grafischen Neuauflage u.a. mehr Blut, auffälligere Brandwunden, deutlichere Hinweise auf die Todesursache einiger Leichen sowie längere Filmszenen zu sehen als es vor sieben Jahren der Fall war.
BioShock 2 sowie Infinite erschienen bereits in ihrer ursprünglichen Fassung ohne Änderungen gegenüber den europäischen und anderen internationalen Ausgaben. Dort ist also ohnehin keine Zensur zu erwarten.

Mittlerweile ist auch der Trailer zur Ankündigung von
BioShock: The Collection veröffentlicht worden. Die Spiele-Sammlung mit
BioShock,
BioShock 2 und
BioShock Infinite sowie allen verfügbaren Einzelspieler-Downloadinhalten und einem Kommentar (Ken Levine und Shawn Robertson) wird am 13. September 2016 in den USA, am 15. September in Australien und am 16. September international für PC, PlayStation 4 und Xbox One erscheinen. Die Sammlung wird 60 Dollar kosten.
Die Konsolen-Versionen sollen in 1080p mit 60 Bildern pro Sekunde laufen. Besitzer der PC-Version von BioShock, BioShock 2 und/oder Minerva's Den sollen die aktualisierten Versionen
kostenlos erhalten (Bundle bei
Steam). Der Mehrspieler-Modus von BioShock 2 ist nicht enthalten. Die PC-Version von BioShock Infinite ist nicht "remastered", da die PC-Fassung bereits den aktuellen Konsolen-Standard entsprechen und flüssig laufen würde.
Publisher 2K Games:
"Zum ersten Mal überhaupt können Fans der BioShock-Reihe alle drei preisgekrönten Spiele als Remaster für aktuelle Konsolen und PC (digital) erleben." Verantwortlich für die Umsetzung ist Blind Squirrel Games. Bessere Grafik wird ebenfalls versprochen.

BioShock
- The video series, "Director's Commentary: Imagining BioShock," featuring Ken Levine, creative director on BioShock and BioShock Infinite and Shawn Robertson, animation lead on BioShock and animation director on BioShock Infinite.
- Museum of Orphaned Concepts: Walk through a Rapture-inspired virtual museum that gives you a behind-the-scenes look at discarded concepts that never made it into the original game.
Challenge Rooms: Outside the story of BioShock, tackle puzzles, splicers and Big Daddies. And achievements, of course.
BioShock 2 (**Multiplayer will not be included)
- Minerva's Den: A self-contained BioShock story, presenting a side of Rapture you've never seen before. Use expanded combat abilities with the experimental Ion Laser and chaotic Gravity Well Plasmid, unique to Minerva's Den, as you face off against the Lancer Big Daddy.
- Protector Trials: Take control of an Alpha Series Big Daddy woken out of hibernation just before the events of BioShock 2.
BioShock Infinite
- Burial at Sea - Episode 1 & 2 Add-On Packs: This major two-part DLC pack completes the BioShock trilogy by taking the series back to where it all began. Return to Rapture just before the events of the original BioShock!
- Clash in the Clouds Add-On Pack: Face 60 waves of challenges across four additional maps for leaderboard glory and unlock areas to explore in The Columbian Archaeological Society hub museum.
- Columbia's Finest Pack: Combines the contents of the Industrial Revolution Pack and the Upgrade Pack and includes 500 Silver Eagles, five Lock Picks, six unique Gear items, and two weapon upgrades: Comstock’s China Broom Shotgun and Comstock's Eagle Eye Sniper Rifle.

Nein, offiziell angekündigt hat 2K Games die Sammlung der BioShock-Spiele immer
noch nicht, aber nach dem heutigen Start des
BioShock-Twitter-Channels war auf 2kgames.com ganz kurz die Unterseite "BioShock: The Collection" (noch ohne Inhalte)
abrufbar. Auch das Coverbild wurde auf dem
Server des Publishers entdeckt. Somit dürfte die Ankündigung der Spiele-Sammlung mit
BioShock,
BioShock 2 und
BioShock Infinite nicht mehr lange auf sich warten lassen. Zumal in der Zwischenzeit auch Bildmaterial
aufgetaucht ist.
