Verbannt aus US-Militärshops
Sämtliche auf US-Militärbasen befindlichen Spielehändler (meist GameStop) oder Bezugsquellen im Rahmen des "Army and Air Force Exchange Services" (AAFES) werden Medal of Honor von Electronic Arts nicht anbieten, weil im Multiplayer-Modus die Taliban als spielbare Fraktion ausgewählt werden kann. "The Army and Air Force Exchange Service" bestätigte dies gegenüber Kotaku und somit wird das Actionspiel weltweit auf US-Militärbasen nicht angeboten. Auch das Marketing-Material wird entfernt. Basierend auf einer eMail von GameStop wurde die Entscheidung aus Respekt "für unsere Männer und Frauen in Uniform" gefällt.
"GameStop has agreed out of respect for our past and present men and women in uniform we will not carry Medal of Honor in any of our AAFES based stores...," the email, obtained by Kotaku, reads. "As such, GameStop agreed to have all marketing material pulled by noon today and to stop taking reservations. Customers who enter our AAFES stores and wish to reserve Medal of Honor can and should be directed to the nearest GameStop location off base. [...] GameStop fully supports AAFES in this endeavor and is sensitive to the fact that in multiplayer mode one side will assume the role of Taliban fighter."
GameStop gab auf Nachfrage noch den Hinweis, dass das Spiel stattdessen in den Filialen in den Städten (außerhalb der Militärbasen) erhältlich wäre und dort vorbestellt werden könnte. Electronic Arts hat dies bisher nicht kommentiert.
