Wie immer soll die zusätzliche Million nicht ausschließlich zur Produktion eben dieses Zusatzziels verwendet werden. Vielmehr sollen Qualität sowie Umfang des Weltraumspiels insgesamt gesteigert werden.

Zudem haben die Entwickler den folgenden Werbespot zum "The 2944 MISC Freelancer"-Lineup veröffentlicht, der vollständig mit Hilfe der Ingame-Engine realisiert wurde.
