Doch dies hat sich nun geändert: Das knapp fünf Jahre alte Civilization 4 (ab 9,99€ bei kaufen)-Menülied "Baba Yetu" (Video ) vom Komponisten Christopher Tin (mit dem Soweto Gospel Choir) ist für einen Grammy in der Kategorie "Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalists" nominiert worden und auch sein Album "Calling All Dawns" (ebenfalls mit dem Titellied "Baba Yetu") wurde als "Best Classical Crossover"-Album nominiert. Ob sich die Songs von Christopher Tin gegen die Konkurrenz durchsetzen können, wird sich am 13. Februar 2011 bei der 53. Grammy-Verleihung zeigen.

The opening song 'Baba Yetu (feat. Soweto Gospel Choir)' is well known to video game aficionados as the theme song to the popular game 'Civilization IV'. Originally written for the game, it has since become a crossover hit outside of the video game industry, and has received close to 1000 live concert performances both from local and professional choirs, and as a staple of the Video Games Live concert tour. Tin's nomination marks the first time ever that a piece of music written for a video game has received Grammy recognition.
