Die siebte Episode "Access Denied" von Minecraft: Story Mode wird am 26. Juli 2016 für PC/Mac, PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, iOS und Android erscheinen. Es ist der zweite Teil von insgesamt drei geplanten Erweiterungen der Hauptgeschichte. Die drei zusätzlichen Episoden kosten einzeln knapp fünf Dollar oder zusammen als "Adventure Pass" knapp 15 Dollar - zusätzlich muss man mindestens im Besitz von Episode 1: Der Orden des Steins oder des Season Pass sein, um die Add-ons kaufen zu können.
