Modifikation Project Reality 0.6 für Battlefield 2 mit deutlich gesteigertem realistischen Anspruch

Project Reality (official website) is a modification, or mod, for Battlefield 2 on the PC. The mods aim is to rework the game engine, developed by Digital Illusions CE (DICE), to create a far more realistic combat environment than the original BF2 gameplay. The Battlefield series have always been about fun, arcadish gameplay. From the original Battlefield 1942, to Battlefield Vietnam, to Battlefield 2, all the Battlefield titles have had realistic-looking environments, vehicles, weapons, and maps, but unrealistic gameplay.

Project Reality focuses on changing that unrealistic gameplay into realistic gameplay. Nearly everything has been tweaked to reflect its real life counterpart, and to simulate how it would perform in real life. From armored vehicles to jeeps, to small arms, to aircraft; everything in and on the battlefield has been tweaked to realistically perform while reflecting its real life counterpart.

This 1.85gb file includes a tremendous number of alterations made to the existing Battlefield 2 system, as well as customized vehicles and weapons that have been heavily scrutinized by our Military Advisor team for accuracy and realism.

We have continued building on our foundations of the British Armed Forces in the last release by adding the Warrior IFV, the Apache Longbow Attack Helicopter, and more to their arsenal. The Chinese forces have have also received there Grenade Launcher attachment to there QBZ-95 Assault rifle. We have added an abundant amount of other extra content (listed below), but in this release our main focus was totally altering how the game is played, even more so than our previous releases! We have made numerous changes that are going to distinguish Project Realitys gameplay from all other BF2 mods, even more so than before!

We have been working more on our spawn system that in the last version we started completely overhauling and reconfiguring it, by adding some 'Commander Assets' like 'Bunkers' and 'Fire Bases' which are also spawn points for the players on your team. Another major feature we have included in PR v0.6 that I have just touched on above is the new 'Commander Assets'. These are basically bits of equipment that the Commander can deploy on the battlefield, with the help of some engineers and normal soldiers which can have a dramatic effect on the overall outcome of the battle. Just to touch on some of the things the commander can deploy, he can deploy AA guns anywhere in the filed, which means pilots will have to keep there eyes open for AA being put up in unexpected places that can rip you apart! There is also sandbag walls which are what they say on the tin, Razor wire which is basically a bit like barbed wire, and comes in the form of a small wall. Fire Bases and Bunkers which are spawn points, and can also a resupply point where you can get ammo etc from. These will overall give the commander a new role on the battlefield, as well as make him a more valuable asset to the team!

Another new feature for the Insurgent faction is the 'Civilian Kit'. Players can choose to spawn as a Insurgent Civilian, and not be armed with anything more than just a hand rock they can throw at enemy troops that dose very little damage, a pair of binoculars, a grappling hook and a bunch of field dressings to heal himself, and other insurgents with. This kit might not seem like much but in fact the civilian has a few tricks up his sleeves that will make him a very valuable asset to the insurgent team. As you may have already guessed, insurgents are not allowed to be shot and killed in battle, if you do shoot them, you and your team will receive a bunch of penalties like a much longer re-spawn time and no limmited kits for 10mins for the player that shot the civilian, as well as the insurgents team getting 10 tickets for him being shot. Thou the other team can 'simulate a arrest' of a civilians by knifing them, which will give your team 10 tickets. The civilian class will used for scouting, trying to lead the enemy onto hidden IEDs and lots more!

Building on top of our 'Kit Limiting' system in the previous release, we have now cut our 'base kits' down to only 4 kits, and made kits like Grenadier and Light-AT limmited kits. We have also tweaked our kit limiting system so that you can have only so many limmited kits in one squad, meaning that you will no longer see one squad taking up all the sniper kits for example.

Included in the new release are the following game modes:

    A) Advance and Secure v2 In this game mode, each team battles over a "group" of control points (flags) at any given time. A team must capture the entire group of control points before moving on to the next designated group of control points. A "group" of control points can have as little as one control point in them, or as many as 5. One should expect fierce battles erupting over those flags, with very concentrated action where you get both a lot of attack and defence!

    B) Insurgency (NEW!) In this original PR game mode, the insurgents will have to defend there ammo caches, where the other team will have to try and seek them out and destroying them, either by scouting for them, or arresting civilians to try and get the where abouts from them as to where they may be. The Insurgants will need to fight off the attacking force, where as the only way the other team can win is to destroy all the ammo caches around the map!
