Das vor drei Wochen angekündigte erste Download-Paket für BioShock 2 (ab 5,99€ bei kaufen) steht ist seit heute erhältlich. Das Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack getaufte Update erhöht die Ranking-Grenze bis zur Stufe 50, bietet weitere Waffen-Upgrades, zwei neue Charaktere sowie fünf Masken. Deren Assets wahrscheinlich schon auf der Disk des Spiels ruhen und durch den Patch nur freigeschaltet werden - der ist wohl gerade mal 108 KB groß.

Die Sinclair Solutions schlagen mit 400 Microsoft-Punkten bzw. 3,99 Euro zu Buche.

Update: Im eigenen Forum versucht der Hersteller die Vorgehensweise folgendermaßen zu begründen:

"I noticed there was a bit of confusion about our Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack file size, and I wanted to clear things up for you. The way our engine and game structure works is that people need to have the exact same content for people to play together. One of the challenges with post launch content for MP is that it can split the player base, and we want to avoid that whenever possible. For this content, creating the DLC package the way we did allowed for us to not split the player base - so whether you purchase the new content or not, you can still play with your friends."
