Kein anderes Spiel von Take Two, 2k Games oder Rockstar Games verkaufte sich besser. Wie viele Exemplare in etwa verkauft wurden, verriet der Publisher allerdings nicht.

Auch der Vergleich mit dem bisherigen Starttag-Umsatzrekordhalter fällt ziemlich eindeutig aus, denn Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 hatte laut Activision am ersten Verkaufstag einen Umsatz von über 500 Mio. Dollar generiert. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 und Call of Duty: Black Ops kamen auf jeweils 400 Mio. (6,5 Mio. Verkäufe) bzw. 360 Mio. Dollar (5,6 Mio. Exemplare).
