Wie Red Barrel Games heute verlauten lässt, wird Outlast am 4. September auf Steam veröffentlicht. Der Ausflug in eine alte, aber nicht gar verlassene Irrenanstalt soll 19,99 Dollar kosten.

Das Studio, das von ehemaligen Angestellten von Ubisoft Montreal, EA Montreal und Naughty Dog gegründet wurde, hatte auf der E3 auch eine PS4-Version ihres Debütwerks angekündigt.

"In Outlast, players will take on the role of Miles Upshur, a reporter investigating an anonymous tip that something is amiss at Mount Massive Asylum. Miles ventures blindly into the asylum where a bloody crime scene forebodes a gruesome story to unravel. Players will be in for a true derangement of the senses this September, where fainting may be the only way to escape."
