Paradox wird am 14. Juni 2017 nicht nur das "Immersion Pack" Europa Universalis 4: Third Rome veröffentlichen, sondern auch die zweite Erweiterung Death or Dishonor für Hearts of Iron 4 (ab 11,99€ bei kaufen). Diesmal sollen die Staaten im Vordergrund stehen, die zwischen Nazi-Deutschland und der Sowjetunion in Südosteuropa ums Überleben gekämpft haben, darunter Ungarn, Rumänien, Tschechoslowakei und Jugoslawien - jeweils mit einem eigenen nationalen "Focus Tree". Darüber hinaus kann man "alte Kriegsmaschinerie" auf den aktuellen Stand bringen können. Auch neue Optionen in Sachen Diplomatie und bei den Marionettenstaaten sind geplant. Death or Dishonor wird 9,99 kosten Euro bzw. ist ein Bestandteil des Expansion Pass #1. Zusammen mit der Erweiterung wird es auch ein kostenloses Update für das Hauptspiel geben.
