Focus Home hat jetzt ein Strategiespiel namens Wargame: European Escalation (ab 2,15€ bei kaufen) enthüllt, das von Eugen Systems, den Machern von Act of War, entwickelt wird. Das fiktive Echzeitspiel wird im späten Kalten Krieg von 1975-85 angesiedelt sein - einer Epoche, die bislang noch wenig in Spielen vorkam. Hier werden ab Anfang 2012 NATO-Kräfte gegen Warschauer Pakt kämpfen, wobei es auch um die Frage geht, was im drohenden Nuklearkrieg hätte passieren können. Die Sowjets werden die eine oder andere Panzeroffensive starten, die der Westen aufhalten muss. Erste Bilder gibt's in der Galerie. Set in the rarely explored period of 1975-1985, Wargame: European Escalation pits NATO (USA and Western Europe) against the Warsaw Pact (Soviet and Eastern European countries) in battles that explore “what could have been.” The specter of nuclear warfare loomed large over the real Cold War, but this catastrophic outcome was the ultimate last resort as everyone knew that the first one to start nuclear hostilities would end up wiped out just the same. Large, armored offensives through Europe would certainly have been the core of this hypothetical war; and this is what the game’s explosive campaign takes you through!
