Wird nicht mit einem Free-to-play-Modell an den Start gehen; Betaphase wird verlängert

Die Entwickler von Albion Online haben entschieden , dass das Online-Rollenspiel nicht mit einem Free-to-play-Modell an den Start gehen wird und zugleich bekannt gegeben, dass die geschlossene Betaphase (mindestens) bis zum 1. August 2016 verlängert werden soll. Die Beta-Verlängerung soll jedenfalls dafür sorgen, dass noch "bedeutsame Verbesserungen" vorgenommen werden können. Außerdem hätte die Umsetzung des ursprünglich geplanten Free-to-play-Modells (laut dem CEO von Sandbox Interactive) zu viel Zeit in Anspruch genommen, schließlich würde solch ein kostenloses Modell bestimmte Risiken (Spamming, Nutzung von Bots, zu kleine Welt etc.) mit sich bringen.

"When the game goes live, current founder's packs will be discontinued and replaced with starter packs, which will give full access to the game but offer less value for money than the founder's packs as this is only fair to all founders who help us in making the game. Of course, all founder's will automatically get full access to the game on release as well."
