Square hat die japanische Website zum Beta-Test von Final Fantasy XI aktualisiert und ein paar Feinheiten des Game-Systems näher erklärt: FF XI wird - wie die meisten aktuellen Online-Rollenspiele - ein Trading-System bekommen sowie Häuser für die Bewohner (wobei noch nicht klar ist, ob es Häuser für einzelne Personen oder nur für Gilden gibt).

Um die direkte Kommunikation lebensechter zu gestalten, gibt es 36 Emotes, die von den Charakteren ausgeführt werden können:

/bow, /point, /salute, /kneel, /laugh, /cry, /no, (/nod,/yes),
/wave, (/farewell,/goodbye), /welcome, /joy, /cheer, /clap,
/praise, /smile, /poke, /slap, /stagger, /sigh, /comfort, /surprised, /amazed,
/stare, /blush, /angry, (/disgusted,/upset), /muted, /doze, /panic, /grin,
/dance, /think, /fume, /doubt, /sulk


Eine echte Gabe für alle Rollenspieler, die sich gerne unterhalten. Außerdem bietet der Site jetzt die kompletten Zauberlisten für die Charakterklassen Black Mage und White Mage, mit Beschreibung der Zauber - viele FF-Fans werden die Zauber schon aus den Singleplayer-Rollenspielen kennen:
