Freilich gibt es Leute wie Sweeney oder Carmack die einem sagen, DX 10 sei nicht so viel besser. Allerdings ist zu beachten, dass diese Herren Multiplattformspiele machen, also primär auf DX 9 festgelegt sind und noch dazu ist es meist unerwünscht wenn PC Versionen besser ausschauen als die Konsolenvariante. Hier gilt das Marketing - Dogma:
"Unser Spiel sieht auf allen Systemen gleich aus."
Erst echte Directx 10 Spiele werden zeigen was Directx 10 draufhat. Directx 9 ist Schrott wenn es darum geht Szenen mit vielen unterschiedlichen Objekten darzustellen. Hier sollte DX 10 Vorteile bringen.
Diese Vorteile wird man aber kaum bei popeligen Mulltiplattformspiel sehen. Hier ist was M$ selber dazu sagt:
It's difficult to say if only because the consoles, as you mentioned before, Xbox 360 and PS3, are fundamentally DX9 parts. We're kind of back into a situation we were in before, where there's a lowest common denominator across hardware. If someone is going to do a game that is multiplatform and they want it to run on the consoles, they're going to have to do a DX9-style pipeline anyway. So from that perspective, there are companies that do just one generic cross-platform component and try to hit everything, then there's the guys that do the really exploitive type stuff.
