Die
Kehrtwende von Microsoft in der DRM-Politik bei der
Xbox One (
ab 199,95€ bei kaufen) feuert die
Vorbestellungszahlen der anstehenden Next-Generation-Konsole in Deutschland ordentlich an. Einen Tag vor der markanten Änderung befand sich die Konsole noch auf Platz 51 in den
"Amazon Multiformat- und Hardwarecharts" (vom 14. bis 21. Juni 2013) und nach der Ankündigung preschte die Xbox One vor und zwar bis auf Platz 4 – wohlgemerkt: hierbei handelt es sich um Wochencharts. Die Pole Position sichert sich trotzdem die PlayStation 4.

Weitere Bestmarken gab Amazon USA (
IGN) bekannt, allerdings (leider) ohne zwischen
PlayStation 4 und
Xbox One zu differenzieren. In der E3-Woche, in der bekanntlich die DRM-Maßnahmen der Microsoft-Konsole noch ziemlich restriktiv waren, gab es stellenweise über 2.500 Vorbestellungen der beiden "Next-Generation-Konsolen" pro Minute (knapp 42 Konsolen pro Sekunde). Insgesamt steigerte sich das Geschäft in dem Zeitraum um das 40-fache im Vergleich zum Vorjahr, als nur die
Wii U vorbestellt werden konnte.
"In addition, the day-one pre-orders for PS4 and Xbox One were 'nearly two times that of all video game sales on Black Friday last year.'" Konkrete Zahlen stehen aber noch aus.
